BlackBerry PlayBook Announced – An iPad rival?

BlackBerry playbookWell this is pretty much following Apple’s footstep and launching a 7 inch tablet is really not very innovative but its a cool addition to the available tablet options. This is a very moderate start to announced the launch a very exciting product actually. BlackBerry lovers around the world are excited at the launch and we see some serious competition in the tablet market now.

It’s not only the devices but the BlackBerry tablet OS is also a big announcement at the BlackBerry Devcon in San Francisco today and those who’ve seen it are going crazy I can tell you.

The unveiling video clearly shows the camera capability, multi-tasking, flash in the browser and several other features that are definitely winning against the iPad. Though they are not the first ones to launch the lovable tablet, I’m sure they will definitely grab some market.

Features that really make me go WOW include the HDMI video output for presentations, movies and browsing, full 1080p video playback capability, dual camera for video and still photos and a dual core 1 GHz processor.

And so you code – A fun video to watch

I usually don’t get that carried away by the youtube videos but this one has been done very well. It gets specific to the coders who write computer code and very beautifully stays general to all programming languages and tools. Enjoy the video and don’t forget to turn up the volume 😉

BlackBerry Photo Editor – Top App for you BlackBerry

Finally a photo editing software that is feature rich, simple and easy to use. If you are looking for a software that allows you to edit the photos you take on your BlackBerry, wait no further, download “Photo Editor” on your phone and see the magic.

The editor allows you to crop out unwanted edges and corners of the photos, lets you rotate them before you email them, gives you the liberty and style to change your photo to sapia or black’n white after you’ve taken it and even you can adjust the brightness and contrast of your photo.

You can download the app here or if you are curious, here is a simple example walkthrough.

I took this photo using my BlackBerry 9700

Blackberry-Photo-Editor-Walkthrough

It’s okay on the device but when sending the photo to a PC, this should be rotated first, so first thing I do is launch the photo editor to edit this photo before sending.

This is the usual Photo Editor interface

Then I selected to rotate the photo.
